The Center for
Mineral Technology (CETEM) is a research institute linked
to the Ministry of Science and Technology - MCT. Since its
creation, in 1978, it has been involved with technological
development in the mineral area. Part of work of CETEM is
to supply reference materials from mineral samples, not
available from the existing sources, for analytical method
development and quality control applications.
The reference materials preparation and the coordination
of the interlaboratory measurement programs to certify those
materials are in charge of the Certified Reference Material
Program (PMRC) from the Coordination of Mineral Processes
(COPM). Industrial, commercial and government expert laboratories
participate in the certification process.
To address quality assurance of the reference material production
and customer satisfaction CETEM has implemented a quality
system to fulfill the management and technical requirements
lay down in ISO Guides 34 and 35.
